David Coppage

David Coppage is an accomplished author whose storytelling is deeply rooted in faith, heritage, and a profound respect for family traditions. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. His distinguished career in law enforcement spanned over three decades, reflecting a lifelong commitment to service and justice.

Coppage began his career with the Montgomery Police Department before joining the U.S. Customs Service as a Special Agent, where he worked extensively on drug smuggling, financial crimes, and internal investigations. Following the events of September 11, 2001, he transitioned to the Federal Air Marshal Service, dedicating 12 years to protecting the safety of travelers on domestic and international flights. After retiring in 2014, he continued his professional journey as the head of corporate security for a major financial institution in Atlanta, Georgia.

Inspired by stories passed down through generations of his Southern family, Coppage draws upon personal history and cultural heritage to craft narratives rich in authenticity and emotional depth. His previous works include the memoir They Paid Me For This? Stories From Over Three Decades in Law Enforcement and the political thriller Barbaric Justice, a Top 5 Finalist in the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Today, he resides in Senoia, Georgia, with his wife, Melissa, and their beloved dog, Bentley. Above all, he treasures time spent with his grandchildren Luna, Thomas, and Billie Jo whose lives continue to inspire his writing and reflect the enduring themes of love, legacy, and faith found throughout his work.
